Karsh of the tropics

After he retired, Yousuf Karsh moved all the way south from Ottawa to Boston. I don’t know why, but let us wonder what might have happened if he had followed a meridian still farther — far enough, say, to sniff at the beaker that is the warm south, draw a tropic night’s darkness over himself, and become again what we all were before we were human.
