My post of January 30, 2012, “‘Snap shots of an event that may become historic,'” concerns some newspaper photographs of an almost forgotten event in the naval history of World War I: the seizure of the German gunboat Geier at its pier in Honolulu after two and a half years of internment, 1914-1917.
