Humbug, Professor Lévi-Strauss

Interior of a fast food restaurant, December 18, 2015:

The restaurant was located in Honolulu, a city in the tropics. In the tropics, where the weather never gets cold, temperate-zone binaries like the distinction between indoor and outdoor lose their sharp semantic edges.

And when that happens, when doors reveal themselves to be only provisional and arbitrary notions of a shutting out, we begin to realize that the miraculous is actually the everyday. Annunciations proclaim themselves through every feather that falls through the air, meaning simultaneously precisely nothing withoutdoors and everything within.
